Jim Thorpe Area School District Organizations, Continuing Education Programs & Local Emergency Personnel (Police Department, Fire Department, Ambulance Corps, etc.) This classification includes school affiliated groups of JTASD such as classes, clubs, school board, booster clubs, PTA/PTO, and functions sponsored thereby. Funds generated benefit the organization and/or participants, the primary makeup of which is Jim Thorpe Area School District students. FREE. No facilities fee for admission or non-admission activities. EXCEPTION: Stadium use requires fees. |

School Age Athletic or Youth Groups (not sponsored by or affiliated with the Jim Thorpe Area School District, but primary makeup of the group is Jim Thorpe Area School District students) This classification includes, but is not limited to, the following groups: Jim Thorpe Little League, Jim Thorpe Youth Softball, Jim Thorpe Youth Soccer, Babe Ruth Baseball, AAU, CYO, Scouts A flat, “per season” fee is required for gymnasium, auditorium, stadium, and field usage. No flat fee is required for other areas of usage. No single use fee is charged. See fee schedule. An additional fee for custodians is charged for games taking place in gymnasiums. The fee includes the custodian’s salary and any applicable payroll expenses. Custodians arrive a half hour before the start of the game and leave a half hour after the conclusion of the game. A custodian fee is not charged for practices or other events taking place inside the school, as long as a custodian is not required to open or close the building. If the District feels security is required, a security fee will be passed along to the organization using the facilities. Requests must be made at least 14 days in advance. |

Civic Service or Community Organization This classification includes community groups from the Jim Thorpe Area School District area that are civic, charitable, or service in nature. Also included in this classification are School Age Athletic or Youth Groups whose primary makeup is NOT Jim Thorpe Area School District students, but membership does include some Jim Thorpe students. Single use fees are charged. See fee schedule. Custodian and/or security fees may be required. |
